Writing for Children  
                 
  Jill Ronsley has written stories for children on a variety of subjects. She has an engaging style that immediately inspires the young reader.  
         
  Her writing includes multicultural, biographical and historical stories, as well as features on animals and nature. She has written several stories based on the history and traditions of India and has retold myths and tales from the subcontinent's great epics, such as the Ramayan, the Mahabharat and the Srimad Bhagavatam. She has also written rhymes and short fiction for children.

Jill Ronsley is editor-in-chief of The Blue Review, a monthly online publication for children's writers, for which she writes two regular columns, "Questions & Answers" and "Marketing Tips for Writers." She is on the executive board of the children's writers' BOOST 4 Writers.
In 2005 and 2006, she was a judge in the BOOST Annual Writing Contest for Children's Writers.

Writers often ask how what an acceptable length for their manuscript might be. Use the information below as a general guideline, because publishing houses and acquisitions editors are different and their needs change. Always read the submission guidelines of the publishing house you are interested in before submitting your manuscript. The most important thing is always to present a good, well-edited story with believable, captivating characters.
